Overview:
My exciting New Space client is seeking a dynamic Engineering Leaderto head up the Processing Core team and manage multiple engineering disciplines within their growing organization. You will take charge of designing, developing, and overseeing the hardware and software for their flight computer and control mechanisms. These systems are integral to their next-generation hypersonic vehicle. You will be responsible for the end-to-end development of the software architecture, flight computer hardware, security features, and operating system—from initial design and testing to deployment on production-ready vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the technical and programmatic framework for the flight computer and flight software systems.
- Build and lead a high-performing engineering team to design, test, and produce flight computers, operating systems, and core software.
- Ensure seamless integration of the Processing Core’s systems into the spacecraft.
Minimum Qualifications:
- B.S. degree in Computer Engineering / Science or related field.
- 10+ years of related engineering experience with substantial senior management experience.
- Proven leadership in managing interdisciplinary engineering teams and making critical technical decisions at a program-wide level.
- Extensive experience in deploying and refining essential software infrastructures, secure systems, or safety-critical applications.
- Proficiency in translating customer requirements into reliable, high-quality engineering outcomes.
- Experience managing and delivering projects from concept through production.
- Deep knowledge of OS fundamentals and implementation.
- C, C++, or Rust for embedded systems.
- Embedded Linux, including kernel, driver, and firmware development.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience developing software for autonomous flight systems, satellites, rockets, and/or robotics.
- Cryptographic techniques for system security and secure software design.
- Hardware architecture and assembly-level programming.
